Abstract
The diploma thesis is focused on preparation and characterization of the photocatalytic active material based on silver modified graphitic carbon nitride (Ag/g-C3N4). Graphitic carbon nitride was prepared by thermal polycondensation of melamine and the calcination process was tuned using the Design of Experiments (DOE) method. The selected samples (sample 10 and sample 34) were modified with silver of different percentages contents (0, 0.1, 1 and 3 % Ag) using the photoreduction method. The degradation of the model azo dye acid orange 7 was used for the determination of the photoactivity of the pristine and silver modified samples. The band gap energies of the prepared samples were evaluated using UV-VIS spectroscopy. The samples were further characterized using infrared spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction method and photoluminescence spectroscopy. The morphology of the particles was studied using scanning electron microscopy.
