The thesis deals with the determination of ignition temperature of alternative fuels based on diesel. The procedure for determining the ignition temperature is described by two technical standards for European countries, namely CSN EN 14522, and for countries on the American continent, ASTM E659-15. Their difference is described in the work itself, comparing the results for the ignition temperature of pure methanol. The main task of the thesis is to determine the ignition temperature of the methanol-diesel mixture, when methanol was always added to the pure diesel with a specific volume. All results are listed in Chapter 7 under the title Experimental Results. From a practical point of view, these results can be applied to research on diesel engines for alternative diesel fuel with alcohol.
