Abstract

This bachelor thesis focuses on the development of a 2D game in the Python programming language using the PyGame library, into which various elements of artificial intelligence are integrated. The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate and evaluate the practical application of selected AI methods within a gaming environment. The theoretical part introduces the utilized tools and provides an overview of modern approaches to game AI development. Within the practical implementation, the game incorporates optimized pathfinding algorithms, machine learning and reinforcement learning principles to govern the behavior of non-playable characters, and generative artificial intelligence models that enable fluid communication between the player and the game characters. The conclusion of the thesis is dedicated to testing the developed solution and assessing the overall contribution of the implemented artificial intelligence elements to the player experience.
