Abstract

This work deal with the issue how religion and culture shape attitudes and values of people, which can then influence the economic growth of the country. Target of this work is to verify whether economic attitudes of Protestants are better to achieve economic growth than economic attitudes of Catholics, Orthodox and Muslims. This is being verified on 9 economic attitudes. Dates are drawn from the 6th wave of World Value Survey database, controlled are also socio-demographic variables as age, gender, income and educational level. On the ground of the discovered results, we can say that the attitudes of the Protestants do not differ at all from the attitudes of the other religious groups in two out of nine dependent variables. For the other variables, the results of the analysis showed a statistically significant difference between the attitudes of the Protestants compared to some of the other religious groups.
