Abstract

Bachelor thesis aim on the influence of the initial structure on the value of deformation resistance of medium – carbon steel C45. Research is based on comparison of experimental stress – strain curves of both structures (formed and casted) measured during pressure tests. Experiments were conducted in the temperature ranges from 900 °C to 1250 °C and deformation speed was from 0.05 s-1 to 20 s-1. Values of logarithmic strain reach the value 1. The comparison is accomplished by metallographic cuts made from tested specimens. The results suggest that type of structure have low influence on the value of deformation resistance. It was observed that casted structure have shifted peak to the higher deformation values in comparison with formed structure. Influence of the structure on peak shifting was demonstrated on C45 steel.
