Abstract

The presented diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of instability on the railway em-bankment in the village of Lidečko. The research part of the thesis summarizes the as-sessment methods of stability of the embankment bodies and the characteristics of the natural conditions of the interest locality. The main part of the thesis is concerned with the design of remediation measures, including their static evaluation based on mathematical models. The models of the designed measures and the phase of the construction are evaluated by GEO5 software using the limit equilibrium method and finite element method. The results are compared. In the final part, recommendations for geological investigation and geotechnical monitoring are presented.
