Návrh Expedice na Nový Zéland se zaměřením na oblasti se sopečnou a geotermální aktivitou

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis focuses on the planning of an expedition to the geothermal and volcanically active regions of New Zealand’s North Island. The introductory section of the thesis covers the basic natural conditions, with an emphasis on geology, climate, and the characteristics of the local flora and fauna. This is followed by an overview and description of the main volcanic and geothermal sites. Most of them are located in the Taupō Volcanic Zone, as well as in the Rotorua region and, last but not least, Tongariro National Park. The main part of the thesis presents a proposal for a seven-day expedition, which includes a selection of key sites, their descriptions, geological significance, and a proposed itinerary. The aim of the thesis is to create a comprehensive and practically usable expedition route proposal that combines geological knowledge with geotourism opportunities.
