Porušování autorských práv v oblasti hudebního průmyslu

Abstract

The master thesis is divided into seven chapters dealing with copyright and its infringement with focus on the music industry. The aim of the work is to give an overview of copyright legislation and on the basis of legal regulations to clarify some disputable and very often discussed situations from the musical world. The first chapter gives a general image of intellectual property law, copyright and explains some basic terms fundamental for this area of law. In the next chapter it is then possible to get to know options of copyright protection in legal terms of the Czech Republic. The third chapter treats of collective management organisations in the musical area. Within the forth chapter, obtained theoretical findings are applied into practice to selected situations, which are because of their disputableness very often a subject to discuss. With the help of a research, society awareness of copyrights and related rights is found. Special attention is devoted to Internet piracy. Within the scope of the final chapter, also the economic view of the music industry is added, evaluation of copyright legal regulation made and potential solutions outlined.
