Abstract
Poloch R.; „Production optimalisation of closing rings made of carbon steels“; Ostrava: Department of Materials Engineering; Faculty of Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, VŠB-Technical University, 2012. Diploma thesis, Supervisor prof. Ing. Vlastimil Vodárek, CSc.
One of the Hayes-Lemmerz Czech, s.r.o, (HLC) products are so called “lock rings”. They are produced in HLC by cold rounding and subsequently they are heat treated within external companies. After heat treatment, the rings are delivered back to HLC, however a certain percentage of the rings are deformed.
The purpose of this Diploma thesis is to detect the deformation root cause and introduce technical improvements that can help to reduce the percentage of deformed rings. The technological process of incoming material, which is delivered to HLC is observed in this thesis, subsequently the cold rolling process in HLC is analyzed, and finally, the heat treatment process is addressed.
The final part describes the proposed recommendations, which can lead to a reduction of the percentage of deformed lock rings.
