Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to find out the optical properties of thin films supplied by Varroc Lighting Systems Ltd. This is a polycarbonate substrate coated with a layer of aluminum, chromium or a combination of both metal materials. The thesis describes the necessary theoretical knowledge for the basic functioning of thin films, the technological types of thin film production and in short the use of thin films in the automotive industry. The task of the practical part is to design an experimental set for spectral reflectance measurement and then measure this property on the samples supplied by Varroc Lighting Systems. The work also includes verification of spectral behavior changes during heating the samples. In addition to these measurements, other optical properties such as permeability, absorption or color temperature are also addressed. The thesis contains graphical verbal evaluations and the conclusion.
