Abstract
This thesis investigates the mechanical properties of hybrid composite materials that are reinforced with multiple types of fibers in the composite in order to optimize the properties for different applications. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the topic regarding composite and their manufacturing methods. Furthermore, different options for testing the mechanical properties of composite materials, including tensile, flexural and impact toughness testing. The experimental part includes first the fabrication of hybrid composite materials using hand lay-up and vacuum infusion techniques, followed by mechanical testing to evaluate tensile, flexural and impact strength.
