Dávky státní sociální podpory v Moravskoslezském kraji

Abstract

This bachelor thesis called – State social support benefits in the Moravian-Silesian region - aims to characterize and describe the system of state social support in the Czech Republic inducing its legal regulation. It should become the guide through this topic. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical ones. In theoretical part, there are the description methods used – description of the state social benefit system including its legal regulation and definition of social policy and description of particular benefits as well as social situations being solved in the frame of this system. Further, this part mentions the state authorities evaluating and deciding whether the applicant is eligible for the benefits or not. Practical part deals with an analysis of social benefits in Moravian-Silesian region; data needed to make this analysis were provided by the regional office. The benefits are analyzed in terms of the number and amount, in which those were paid out within 2012 – 2016. Practical part compares the situation in Moravian-Silesian region and in the Czech Republic. Particular social benefits are calculated using model families. This part also involves an evaluation of data gained by the questioning; by the questionnaire, citizens´ awareness of state social benefit system was being investigated. Conclusion offers recommendations, which could increase citizens’´ awareness as well as their approach towards those benefits.
