Abstract
The Bachelor’s thesis is specialized in the issue of financial analysis. The theme of the Bachelor’s thesis is the appraisal of financial position of the firm in the metallurgical industry.
The goal of this thesis is the evaluation of the profitability of the company Ferona, a. s. in years 2004 - 2007. The financial analysis was implemented by ratios of profitability. The thesis is divided into the three basic chapters.
The first chapter contains the basic characteristics of the financial analysis, what is its meaning, who are its users etc. The main part of this chapter includes the description of particular ratios of the financial analysis. The second part of the thesis is aimed at the characteristics of the company Ferona, a. s. along with the vertical and the horizontal analysis of its basic accounting statements. The last, practical part of the thesis is devoted to the appraisal of the profitability trend of the company by means of the basic ratios and of the pyramid decomposition of the ROE. Finally, the results are compared with metallurgical industry and the outcome is interpreted.
