Abstract

This paper solves the problem of thermal bridge in the wall of the steam boiler with membrane wall. Thermal bridge is a steel pin which transfers heat from the membrane wall and increases the surface temperature of coverage. The boiler is insulated with mineral wool material which is covered with trapezoidal sheet with a protective anti-corrosion coating. For the solution was used ANSYS in which was created a numerical model of the insulating layer with a steel pin in the middle. It was created eight simulations which differ in position of trapezoidal sheet against the pin. The results of the simulation are the maximum surface temperature, temperature distribution on the surface of the boiler and the temperature gradient along the length of the steel pin. This paper also includes an iterative calculation of heat transfer coefficient of trapezoidal sheet to the surroundings.
