Abstract
The aim of this thesis is the design and implementation of program that allows the processing of medical images in MATLAB environment, for the purpose of detection objects of interest and the subsequent evaluation of these images in environment FOTOM. In this program, users can design their own methods for pre-processing the image. From the basic adjustments, over filtration to the edge detection, using active contours. That program is able to process most commonly used file format DICOM, which is used in health care. In this thesis were designed methods for pre-processing different types of images. Afterwards the program will be integrated as one of the modules in FOTOM NG.
