Abstract
Comparison of Family Policy in the Czech republic and Austria
Lucie Lenhardová
The bachelor thesis deals with the comparison of family policy in the Czech republic and Austria. Although there are neighboring countries ranging among the countries of the European Union, there are several differences in the family policy of the countries concerned.
The main objective of this thesis is to compare and evaluate individual family policies in both countries using selected mathematical and statistical methods. In order to compare and evaluate the differences, the indicators of total social protection and family policy expenditure were selected in relation to GDP, followed by the comparison of selected family benefits common to both the Czech Republic and Austria. The partial aim of the thesis was to point out the dependence between family policy and demographic development.
An analysis of selected indicators shows that Austria, as a state with a significantly higher GDP, invests much more in social protection and in family policy, which is also reflected in family
benefits. In Austria, entitlement to family benefits is a higher proportion of families, and a number of benefits are provided.
