Abstract

The main objective of Master thesis is to propose and evaluate the proposal to improve the purchasing system in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna, Russia. The theoretical part is concerned with purchasing, purchasing management, functions and target of purchase. Furthermore, the analysis of purchasing management in other international organizations CERN and ESA is elaborated. The main goal of the practical part is to analyze the current system of purchasing in the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, find weak points and suggestions for their improvement. The work dealt with both the modification of all purchasing processes and the modification of the information system. The newly designed system and adjustments are evaluated for benefits to the institute.
