Abstract

The main goal of this diploma project is a basic characterization of corporate foundations and endowment funds in the Czech Republic, an evaluation of publicly declared CSR activities and rules applied in chosen organizations and a formulation of best practices and recommendations on improvement of CSR in the Czech Republic. Quantitative and qualitative dates about credibility and openness of 82 corporate foundations together with 110 corporate endowment funds were minutely analysed. Nadace OKD, Nadace ČEZ, Nadace Vodafone Česká republika, Nadační fond Albert, Nadační fond Avast and Nadační fond Kimex are the most successful ones that were included in the best practices list. Results from a mutual comparison of 100 organizations show that the level of CSR application and its public presentation is very diverse and thematically different. Complex interpretation of CSR principles according to "3P" definition is used in Škoda Auto, ČEZ, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Česká spořitelna, Komerční banka, ArcelorMittal Ostrava, Kooperativa pojišťovna, KPMG Česká republika, Moravia Steel, Třinecké železárny, New World Resources, OKD, T-mobile Czech Republic, Vodafone Czech Republic, Telefónica Czech Republic, Skanska and Metrostav. In most cases these organizations form a part of multinational business communities that define obligatory CSR trends and strategies for their members.
