Využití služebních psů při vyhledávání lidských ostatků

Abstract

The presented bachelor thesis deals with the use of service dogs in the search for human remains and their effectiveness in difficult conditions. The theoretical part focuses on the training of service dogs and the use of chemicals to simulate cadaver scent during training. The thesis also includes information on the difference in scent between living and deceased human bodies, the decomposition process of human bodies, and the movement of scent molecules depending on the environment. Subsequently, the thesis describes the search process along with the methods and equipment used in this specialized activity. The practical part contains hypotheses that were tested in the training area with the help of service dogs. The aim of the practical part was to determine under what conditions service dogs are able to work and successfully locate cadavers, even in cases where the scent is concealed or masked in various ways. In the conclusion, the results of the practical part are evaluated alongside economic evaluations and innovative recommendations.
