Vliv stárnutí populace na ekonomický růst

Abstract

This thesis investigates the impact of population ageing on economic growth in OECD countries over the period 1995–2019. The primary objective is to empirically examine how demographic changes influence the trajectory of economic growth. The study integrates a theoretical framework of economic growth with an in-depth review of the relevant empirical literature. The empirical analysis is based on panel data from 38 OECD countries and employs fixed effects regression models. To address potential endogeneity, a dynamic panel data approach is also utilized. The findings suggest that the share of the elderly population has a positive effect on economic growth, while a higher proportion of the youth population is associated with a negative impact. Fertility rates appear to have no statistically significant effect.
