Abstract

BRANDTNEROVA, Nikola. Assessment of municipal emergency preparedness. Bachelor thesis, supervisor Ing. Alena Splichalova, Ph.D. Ostrava: VSB – TUO, Faculty of Security Engineering, 2024. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the preparedness of the municipality of Krhová for emergency management. The theoretical part defines the concept of emergency, related terms, the general description of the roles of the mayor and the municipal authority, the unified warning and notification system ensuring the preparedness of the municipality. Furthermore, the thesis contains documents that the municipality should have according to the legislative framework and to ensure preparedness; basic information about the territory of the municipality of Krhová. The practical part includes the possible occurrence of emergencies based on a guided interview and a description of the documents prepared. Following this, the documents are assessed and finally suggestions for improvement are made, including their justification.
