Abstract

This thesis deals with building modifications in existing structures from the perspective of fire safety. The introductory part describes the reasons for preparing fire safety design documentation and summarizes the approval process of the relevant documentation. The following chapter analyzes different approaches to addressing building modifications with regard to fire safety. The final part focuses on feedback from fire prevention authorities and fire safety design engineers, who evaluate the issue of building modifications from a fire safety perspective. Their findings and proposals for improving the conditions leading to higher-quality fire safety design documentation are presented at the end.
