Abstract

This thesis deals with the topic of micro wind power plants, the possibilities of their use in urban development and with the construction of the new micro wind power plant in the area of the Technical University of Ostrava. The theoretical section describes physical characteristics of wind, potecial of the wind power in Czech Republic and problematics of the construction and operation. Following with the individual technical parts of wind power plants. Practical section focuses on the construction of micro wind power plant on a building in the area of Technical University of Ostrava. It focuses on the assessment of the characteristics of wind in the particular locality and the following determination of the parameters of that particular wind power plant. The wind power plant will be designed in order to make the biggest use of the potencial of the locality and at the same time it will meet the conditions for the scietific research of university. Particularly for researching of different types of rotors and their potencials. In the last section of the thesis focuses on economical evaluation of the project, capital expenditure, return and possible earnings fot the whole time of using the wind power plant.
