Abstract

The main purpose of this diploma thesis is impacts of enlargement to European Union for Czech republic a Poland. Main goal is to identify and compare the advantages and disadvantages of membership for these countries. The thesis is separated into three main chapters. The first is concentrate with fundamental characteristics of countries and with analysis economic situation in these countries before enlargement to EU. Next chapter describes the actual accession negotiation process with focus on selected accession chapter. In the curial part of thesis is analyzed situation of countries after enlargement. Deals with analysis and comparison of economic development of countries, the situation in agriculture ant he impact of membership on the free movement of persons and workers. An important part of thesis is also an assessment of the political activities of Poland and Czech republic within the common governance of the EU and their Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
