Abstract

The first part of my bachelor thesis deals with the reason and consequences of waste origin and the introduction to the waste management legislation. The actual description of the current legislation is preceded by an outline of the history of waste management in the Czech Republic. The thesis also focuses on the general legislation of waste management in the Czech Republic, the explanation of the term environment, the formation process and the present state of the environment legislation. The following chapter is dedicated to the main waste management regulations in force: acts and regulations and the introduction to the most important articles of the Act nr. 185/2001 Coll. One of the last topics in my thesis is the presentation of my home town of Havířov and its waste management regulations.
