Abstract

The Bachelor Paper deals with research into the pollutants in Prague which need to be observed and assessed due to provable detrimental impacts on the health of the population. The main pollutants containing an excess of concentration and are about to bemonitored are substances fraction PM 10, nitrogen dioxide and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) represented benzo[a]pyrene. When it comes to the emissions sources that are giving rise to this situation, vehicular traffic plays an important role. For the purposes of the assessment of pollutants‘ influence on air quality in Prague, two automated measuring stations were selected out of sixteen. Specifically the measuring station Praha 5-Smíchov and then Praha-Libuš was picked as comparative station. Target resided in evaluation of concentrations of emissions of individual substances in the past ten years, i.e.2004-2013. This thesis elaborates charts for individual pollutants such as PAHs (represented by benzo[a]pyrene), VOCs (particularly an assessement for benzen), powdery particles PM2,5 and PM10 and nitrogenoxides. These substances were chosen on the basis of long-term observation of air quality in Prague. The rewereassesed concetrations for some pollutants from average monthly values for the year 2013. The concluding part suggests possible methods that could prove air quality in the capital city.
