Abstract
Thesis is aimed on the design of broadband ICT infrastructure for the new part of Ostrava city called Nová Karolina. The overview of possible solutions is shown there in terms of technical and economical point of view. First five chapters describe types of access networks such as copper, optical or radio networks. Last chapter is devoted to the design of optical access network using FTTH, FTTB and UMTS technologies.
