Abstract

This work deals with the use of industrial waste - slag aggregate in construction industry. Marginally describes the different types of inorganic material and addresses the appropriateness of its application in building structures with regard to physical, mechanical and chemical properties. The practical part deals with three specific fractions of aggregate of producer DESTRO, Ltd., which provided aggregate samples for the experiment. Within the bounds of possibility of Laboratory of building materials FAST, Technical University Ostrava, selected physical and mechanical properties of slag aggregate have been verified. In conclusion, the possibilities of using the tested aggregates in construction practice based on established properties are mentioned.
