Abstract

This diploma thesis deals with the possibility of biomass ash to treat acid mine drainage. The theoretical part is divided into two sub-parts, the first summarizes current knowledge in the field of mine waters, their treatment and current management, the second is focused on biomass ash, its composition and possibilities of its use are mentioned. The practical part is an experiment - acid mine water treatment with biomass ash and monitoring the time dependence of indicators as pH and concentration of selected metals with different doses of ashes. The concentration values are compared with indicators of the Government regulation.
