Abstract

This work deals with the preparation of dispersion-hardened alloys based on Cu-Cr-Nb in the theoretical part. These alloys can be prepared by induction melting, chill block melt spinning (CBMS), hot rolling, mechanical alloying, cryogenic milling, gas atomization, hot isostatic pressing (HIP), spark plasma sintering (SPS). Utilization of these alloys can be found, for example, in aerospace or rocket engineering applications. In experimental part, the selected Cu-0.4Cr-0.1Nb alloy is prepared by induction melting and subsequently processed into a form of wires of 0.3 and 0.5 mm in diameter. Structural characteristics, chemical composition, mechanical properties of specimens and distribution of Cr2Nb precipitates in Cu-matrix and their size are studied.
