Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the monitoring and assessment of water quality in the Vařešinka watercourse. The theoretical part summarizes the basic characteristics of watercourses, the issue of water pollution, and an overview of the main pollutants, including the monitored indicators. The practical part is based on field monitoring conducted between September 2025 and February 2026 at six sampling sites. Based on laboratory analyses of selected physico-chemical parameters, water quality and its changes along the longitudinal profile of the stream were evaluated. The results were assessed according to ČSN 75 7221. Based on the obtained data, sections with deteriorated water quality were identified and probable sources of pollution were discussed. Finally, measures to improve water quality are proposed.
