Abstract

The diploma thesis provides a comprehensive view of the implementation of the Common Security and Defence Policy not only from a historical perspective, but also from the perspective of its possible future development. The aim of the work is based on the analysis to evaluate the current state of the Common Security and Defense Policy with regard to its potential future development. The first chapter deals with the CSDP as one of the main components of the Common Foreign and Security Policy. The second chapter focuses on the main practical activities that are carried out within the CSDP, which are mainly military, police and civilian missions. The following chapter focuses on the analysis of the future development of the CSDP according to the results of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the EU Global Strategy 2016 and the main ideas of building the European Defence Union with regard to public opinion of EU citizens surveyed through the Eurobarometer platform.
