Abstract

The subject of this thesis is hydrological drought. The main purpose of the thesis is to describe drought issues, development and occurrence of seasons affected by drought. It also deals with the functionality of monitoring systems able to record data and study how and to what extent it is possible to forecast drought depending on the collected data. The thesis focuses on precaution measures which can decrease damage which may occur during hydrological drought and also on preventive measures and behavior that can prevent drought season occurrence. Finally, this work outlines the situation in the Czech Republic and in the world, in terms of past years and present years, and possible development of this issue in the future will be solved in this thesis. This thesis will also consider the impact of human activity on the origin of drought.
