Abstract

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the competitive position of the metallurgical enterprise. In order to achieve this target, it is necessary to characterize the main factors affecting the competitiveness of the steel industry, both from the point of view of the industry (from the point of view of a specific producer) and in relation to steel as a material, ie competing materials. In analyzing the development of steel production and consumption, respecting the conditions in the political, economic, technological and social spheres, regional influence has proved to be the most important factor. In the bachelor thesis, macroeconomic analysis methods are used for the assessment of the main factors of competitiveness using PEST analysis, the analysis of the mezzo and micro business environment and the evaluation of the competitive position using the SPACE analysis. Based on the results obtained from the analyzes carried out, a procedure is proposed to improve the competitive position of the company. The SPACE analysis shows that the company is characterized by an aggressive competitive position. This is also supported by the current policy of society In the end, we can say that TŽ, a.s. in terms of competitiveness, is a financially stable business with a sound investment strategy supported by financial institutions.
