Abstract

Laser therapy for the treatment of all skin lesions of vascular origin in recent years has seen considerable progress and development in the field of technical devices. A vascular laser, namely the device CANDELA Vbeam Perfecta, which is a part of this thesis, was equipped with the patented system of dynamic cooling called DCD that leads to more comfort for the patient during the surgery. In most vascular lasers it was possible to adjust pulse duration up to 40 ms, which minimizes bruising after treatment, in most cases there is only skin redness. Because of the complexity and diversity of setting the laser CANDELA Vbeam Perfecta, this diploma theses was created at the request of doctors from burn centre of FNO. Its goal is to create a user interface for automated calculation of parameters of laser therapy and alternative options for setting the same laser energy. In the theoretical part of the thesis you can find the physical principle of laser technology and laser equipment. Further, it deals with operating of the burn centre in FNO, especially the types of lesions treated there with CANDELA device Vbeam Perfecta. The theoretical part concludes with a description of the therapeutic laser. The practical part deals with the design, implementation of algorithm for automated calculation and with resolution of user interface, which was created in MATLAB. The program was tested in clinical practice of FNO and can serve for further development.
