Abstract

This thesis is focused on the identification of the adverse influences of operating conditions, that can negatively affect the function of the pan-European emergency call system, followed by performing experimental measurements to verify the theoretically obtained facts. There is also used and performed evaluation based on specified criteria to compare eCall with commercially supplied technologies and assess its role in saving the lives in traffic accidents. The thesis further describes the principle and purpose of eCall, including projects related to its implementation, an overview of technical standards and legislations relating to the eCall system.
