Abstract

The master thesis deals with the issue of burning and thermally active heaps, which were created as mining dumps – the negative impact of black coal mining. The environment is polluted by emissions from thermal activity in the ensembles of heaps, these emissions also cause human health damage as large amount of gaseous dust particles and gaseous combustion gases are released from the heaps. The international project TERDUMP deals with this issue on the united Czech-Polish border. The aim of the project is to propose ways of eliminating these risks. This master thesis is a part of the project focusing on PAHs, also a part of the gaseous emissions emitting from the heap Hedvika. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the description of thermally active heaps, especially with the heap Hedvika and the detailed characteristic of PAHs. The practical part of the thesis deals with sampling of gas emissions with subsequent extraction, analysis and evaluation.
