Sociální stát a jeho realizace ve vybraných zemích

Abstract

The aim of this thesis is, using available information, to characterize the welfare state in general and specific terms and then to compare individual areas of the welfare state with an impact on the economy level and public finances in selected countries.

The thesis is divided into the five chapters. The first chapter, an introduction, is followed by the second chapter dealing with the classification of the welfare state. This chapter is also devoted to the typology of the welfare state and its individual areas. The third chapter describes the welfare state in Germany, Great Britain and Sweden, including an outline of historical development. The fourth chapter is based on comparison of areas of the welfare state and also assesses the economic situation, tax systems and burden on public finances in selected countries. The final part of this chapter is devoted to a summary of the overall social and economic development with human development index. The last chapter represents the conclusion of the thesis.
