Campus VŠB - TU Ostrava, polyfunkční centrum

Abstract

Rest areas in the northern part of the university campus VŠB - Technical University of Ostrava on road closure of Opavská street are vague for the university and its surrounding in these days. The aim of this work is to experss an opinion on this area and the street Opavská itself and to think about their future development. The proposal deals with a multi-functional building on the closure of the Opavská and University streets, which lead from the monoblock Class Teaching Hospital. It is functional, but also magnetic area. The building is divided into five functional blocks, which mingle. The services for general public, students, administrative areas, administrative and management areas of rectorate , the Rector's Office of VŠB - TU Ostrava are placed in vertical line. The building becomes a new dominant (control room) of area and also in term of functionality. Formal design of buildings is based on a land-based and ideological context, not only in the scale of the discussed area, but especially in the city-wide scale.
