Abstract
Increased industrialization and rapid urbanization including technological advances significantly contaminate our environment by discharges of heavy metals in waste water . The aim of my thesis is to model solutions of heavy metal divalent cations copper, zinc and nickel apply biosorbents , which is inactive dry yeast food containing yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, demonstrating the effectiveness of elimination, or reduction in the concentration of these metals in the wastewater as one of the biological methods for purification of industrial waste waters. The theoretical part is focused on legislative standards for discharges of industrial wastewater, the toxicology of selected heavy metals in water, methods of removing heavy metals and biotechnology utilizing yeast in the process of biosorption. Experimental part points to verify the effectiveness of a biosorbentu.
