Abstract

The Bachelor thesis deals with Diabetes Mellitus and its nutritional requirements. In terms of the thesis, a food database and a web application for the calculation of carbohydrate exchange units were developed. Subsequently, the application was tested together with a simulation of type 1 Diabetes using the MiniMed Paradigm Veo insulin pump, continuous glucose monitor and the Contour Link glucometer. The insulin dose and the values of exchange units were indicated by diabetologist Naděžda Filáková, MD.
