Abstract

The theoretical part of this master's thesis focuses on analyzing the most prominent tailing management facilities disasters using freely accessible database sources, tailing management facilities safety management principles, and disaster prevention. It also describes czech and eurupean legal aspects of management of tailings and their disasters. The thesis further defines the dangers posed by tailing management facilities and gives an account of the potential impact on the environmental components, with various case studies being taken into consideration. The practical part of the thesis then encompasses the improvement of safety protocols aimed at preventing tailing management facility disasters, with the potential transboundary implications and impacts taken into account.
