Udržitelnost a cirkularita v módním průmyslu

Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and evaluate the current situation of sustainability and circularity in the fashion industry. The first chapter focuses on theoretical definition of the terms sustainability and circularity and their specific application to the fashion industry. Then it focuses on the economic impact of sustainability and circularity in the fashion industry and explains the concept of cost per wear. The second chapter with a legislative focus defines selected legislative documents of the Czech Republic, the United Nations and the European Union related to sustainability and circularity in the fashion industry. The third chapter introduces the fashion industry, its problematic aspects and levels of fashion. In the fourth chapter, research is conducted using a questionnaire survey method on consumer perceptions of sustainable and circular fashion to determine consumer attitudes towards this issue. As a result of the research, a larger number of respondents are not very concerned about their impact on the environment, but they highly appreciate the efforts of clothing companies towards sustainable and circular production. Respondents who are trying to reduce their fast fashion clothing purchases and reduce their negative environmental impact were in the minority. The last chapter assesses the impact of sustainability and circularity in fashion, specifically in selected problematic aspects, describes a brief development of sustainability and circularity in fashion and compares the results of the conducted research with the results of KPMG's 2018 global research.
