Abstract
In the Czech Republic, more salt is getting into the waters and soils in various ways (for example industry, agricultural production, use of technical snow, mine waters and natural resources can be for example mineral springs). This has the adverse effect of living organisms. Individual salts and their negative effects on the environment will be described in the first and second chapters of this work.
The third chapter of this work will describe plants that are adapted to increased salinity and are therefore called halophytes. These plants can be used to rehabilitate for example mine water. We call this process phytoremediation.
In the last chapters, various methods of water desalination, legislative measures and alternative solutions are discussed.
