Abstract
The bachelor thesis deals with analysis, design and implementation of JavaME application which provides functions of GPSd. GPSd is a program running in background of Linux systems. It arranges communication with GPS receiver which is connected to the computer and enables sharing information provided by the receiver. The application developed in my bachelor thesis provides functions of both client and server. The server part communicates with the GPS receiver, reads provided data and shares it with clients using latest version of GPSd protocol. The client part of the application has two options for connecting to the server, using either sockets or Bluetooth technology. Besides of application development the bachelor thesis describes technologies, standards and terms related to GPS and GPSd.
