Abstract

The thesis is focused on finding the most suitable production mixture of the refractory lining of the furnace unit for biomass combustion. The main requirement for lining is the highest possible resistance to alkali corrosion. The theoretical part describes the basic raw material for the manufacture of refractory concrete, refractory concrete cutting and setting various properties of the castable concrete. One entire chapter details the corrosion of refractory concrete which we want to minimize. All types of corrosion are described here and the manner of their formation and subsequently some corrosion tests. The next chapter summarizes the corrosive effects of biomass lining during its combustion in the furnace. It also mentions findings from other research projects dealing with corrosion-resistant linings in the furnace aggregates for biomass combustion. Experimental part consists of specific concrete mix designs for refractory concrete lining and determination of their physical properties and the results of crucible corrosion tests in the form of authentic photographs. The conclusion summarizes the findings from experimental and theoretical part of the thesis.
