Abstract
This dissertation is focused on analysis of long term unemployed people. The thesis compares data from the time period from 2009 - 2018 and follows labour market trends through a sample of long-term registered job seekers. It analyses the relevance of statistical data reported by the Labour Office of the Czech Republic and trying to find better ways to record the evidence. This dissertation uses records of document analysis and statistical data, horizontal approach for development of unemployment in a certain time frame to reach our conclusions. The sources that have been used in this thesis include publications from the professional field, internal materials and portal documents of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and documents of the Labour Office of the Czech Republic within the Regional Office of the Moravian-Silesian Region in Ostrava. The Microsoft Office toolkit - Microsoft Excel 2016, in the period from 2013 to 2018, was used for the data processing and analysis. As a result, the analysis reveals that there are duplicate data in statistical reports. Another downfall in the evidence of jobseekers, are possibilities that their evidence records in database of Labour office where candidate is registered for each claim separately. This is not taken into account in the final calculations and it is not taken into consideration when repeated unemployment of single jobseeker happens, therefore they are not considered as long term unemployed jobseekers.
This means that the number of long-term registered job seekers may be distorted.
