Abstract
The thesis deals with analysis and solution of public space from the perspective of barrier-free usage. Barrier-free environment is defined as an environment accessible to physically or visually challenged people. The area of interest is “Brno Veveří” district and an adjoining city part. The thesis defines three routes on which the barrier-free accessibility was evaluated within the analytical part of the thesis. The evaluation of accessibility was related to the overall state of pedestrian roads, public transport stops and entrances to civil amenities. In the practical part there are given suggestions of possible solutions of critical points on the routes. The practical part of the thesis also includes proposals of solutions for barrier-free modifications of public transport stops, modifications of pedestrian crossings and changes of places that are common to the cycle track on the route. The final part of the thesis is an economic evaluation of the selected proposed solution of critical points. The thesis was written in compliance with relevant legal regulations, Czech technical standards and in accordance with the accepted standards of the National Development Program Mobility for All.
