Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis describes the work I performed at FMIB, s.r.o. during fifty-five working days of professional internship in the final year of my bachelor’s program at VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Department of Electrical Power Engineering. The internship focused on the installation, maintenance, and project planning of photovoltaic power plants. The thesis first outlines the company’s focus and my role within it. The main section is devoted to the activities performed during the installation and maintenance of photovoltaic power plants. It describes the wiring of AC switchboard, cable routing, inspection of DC and AC components, insulation resistance testing, thermographic inspection of panels, and lightning protection solutions using an isolated lightning protection system and HVI conductors. The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the course of the professional practice, describe the experience gained, and demonstrate the connection between theoretical instruction and the actual operation of photovoltaic power plants.
