Abstract

This diploma thesis summarizes data concerning titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V for traumatology applications, comparison of technical parameters and requirements for properties and biocompatibility of the alloy, surface treatment, application of the alloy, the effect of heat treatment on microstructure and the possibility of hydrogen temporary alloying. In the practical part of the work, samples of Ti-6Al-4V alloy were prepared, heat treated in argon and hydrogen, hydrogen content was measured using analyzer LECO RH600 and hot uniaxial compressive test was realized by means of the device Gleeble 3800. Based on experimental results, the effect of hydrogen on the formability and the microstructural properties of the Ti-6Al-4V alloy was determined.
